We believe that responsible tour operators need to do more than support charities. Sustainability and responsibility are matters of course for us. Every day we strive to make travel a little more environmental friendly and responsible. When we found Tour By Vespa in 2018, we set out to help change our environment for the better. We have established a “One Dollar to Save Our Planet” project to minimize our environmental footprint.
Planting more trees also helps to offset carbon emissions, which is great for the environment. And the initiative allows you to experience what rural life is like in Cambodia. A win-win all around is offered to all the people that live in the area, the environment, and travelers on our Cambodia Vespa tours. We run a tree planting initiative at the village of Anlong Thom community in Phnom Kulen National Park, located 50km from Siem Reap. We aim to plant 2,000 trees and cover an area of 10-15 hectares in order to provide a sustainable source of income for the village of 200 people.
Our company has participated in the Clean Up Siem Reap Campaign—regular, organized clean-up days in Siem Reap during which participants collect trash and educate locals about hazardous waste. The sponsorship of various environmental campaigns, including Plastic Free Cambodia, Naga Earth, and Clean Green Cambodia. These campaigns often include a variety of activities, including city clean-ups and plastic-free projects; these lead to the establishment of waste management systems in communities.
